To those who have long hair: If you’re just wanting a trim, it will only be a trim. So many stylists love to cut off more than what was requested. I have to admit, I love when long haired clients want to cut it all off. There’s nothing so satisfying as lopping off someone’s beautiful locks that has taken them so many years to grow. If you’re someone considering chopping it off for a cute, short hair-do, I’d love to do it, but I do want to caution you. You may never go back.
There’s a vicious cycle that many short-haired women know all too well. You can get addicted to chopping. When you’re able to change your look often and easily, and since growing it back can be such a long, awkward process, many women tend to shy away from ever trying to grow it back. It is, of course, just hair, and it will grow back. But I want you to be aware of the discipline it takes to make it happen.
After careful consideration, if you’re one of those still interested in going short, we can work together to come up with a really cute haircut for you. And as a side benefit, you can take comfort in knowing I’ll ship your beautiful locks off to Locks of Love to be made into much needed hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. For those of you committed to long hair and maintaining your length, fear not, I won’t cut off more than what you’ve requested.
